Barbara grew up in Tokyo and the United States.  She received her BFA in Dance Performance from Ohio State and studied acting with Sande Shurin in New York.  She has worked with Mutt Rep, Sage Theatre, Bravo and White Mask theatre companies.  Her film credits include work with directors such as Woody Allen, Barbara Streisand, Julian Schnabel, Nicole Holofcener and Lloyd Kaufman.  She has appeared on the soaps As the World Turns, One Life to Live and Guiding Light.  Her television credits include Law and Order, Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan and Sex in the City.  Barbara is also a professional painter of fine art and a choreographer.  She is currently creating “The Orchid Voices Project,” a one woman play about Tokyo and Amerasians during the Vietnam War.
